Mr Rishi Chana

I was seen by Mr Chana in October of this year. Consultation confirmed that I would benefit from total replacement of the right hip. At the initial consultation I had an X-ray taken and this was used immediately to illustrate my hip problem, and provide evidence for possible remedial intervention. Alternatives were discussed and all relevant information provided. The meeting was a genuine discussion where my questions were invited and answered clearly and openly; at no time did I feel that my own fears and doubts were underestimated especially as Mr Chana appeared to value my husband's presence and invited his contributions to the discussion as well as my own. Pre-operative assessment appointments followed swiftly allowing surgery to be performed within a short space of time. Mr Chana and the anaesthetist both visited me prior to surgery on the day of the operation. Both were remarkably reassuring and any fears I may have had regarding my surgery were easily dispelled. Following hip replacement Mr Chana took the time to call my husband to let him know that I was safely in the Recovery Unit and that surgery had been wholly successful. During my post-operative period I felt thoroughly reassured that all precautions were taken to ensure my safe and pain-free recovery. During my short stay in hospital I was visited by Mr Chana and by the anaesthetist who together, provided professional and empathic care. Immediately following discharge Mr Chana spoke to me on the 'phone and I was given a further consultation where my incision site was assessed. It was particularly reassuring to know that I had been invited to contact Mr Chana at any time should I have any subsequent questions or doubts. However, this opportunity was not required as my post-operative progress was very smooth and rapid. I have no reservations when I recommend Mr Chana and the care he provides; the results of his surgical skills have resulted in my improved mobility and pain relief in a relatively short period of time.

Mr Chana undertook a total hip replacement operation on me to counteract sever arthritis in the joint. During all of my consultations before the operation, I was convinced that he wouldn't have recommended any treatment I didn't need. The surgery was carried out exactly according to plan and I was able to stand on my new hip the following day. After the operation, as promised, he personally called my wife to tell her how it had gone which was very reassuring for her and for me. During my convalescence, because of some of the medications I take, I suffered from some problems with the wound not drying out and the dressing leaking but Mr Chana was incredibly responsive, even seeing me in hospital on a Saturday morning and responding to my e mails on a Sunday. I can't recommend him highly enough.

When I saw Mr Chana for my initial consultation a total hip replacement was not what I was expecting. All my concerns were listened to and Mr Chana gave detailed explanations with patience and reassurance, he also provided ample opportunity for additional consultations before surgery. Surgery in June was straightforward and comfortable and Mr Chana came to see me every day. Follow up consultations have been thorough and paced for each stage of recovery. I am thrilled with the results and the whole process was efficient and caring.

Mr Chana inspired me with great confidence from the first appointment. He is very approachable, listens well and explains clearly. I had a total hip replacement and was given a good understanding of what to expect. The care and treatment throughout the process has been exceptional, Mr Chana attended every day in hospital and followed up with calls once I was home. I have had two very successful total knee replacements done by Mr Chana; in November 2021 and February 2022. TKR is challenging, but I was well-informed and assured. by Mr Chana. He is very easy to talk to and always takes time to answer any questions throughout the process over many months. I have been very happy with the care and attention he and his team have given me.
